Studio Make Up School!
Hair, Make Up and Styling by me!

Last weekend I had the chance to attend Studio Make Up School (SMUS) in Wellington with Make Up Artist Michelle Perry and Photographer Tim Watson. I learnt SO much, I left completely dazzled and inspired. On top of that I have taken away these beautiful images. I recommend SMUS to anyone interested in learning make up in Wellington. Not only will you learn from the best but you'll have lots of fun doing it!

Hunting for treasure in Tokyo?

What's your preferred attire? Ride 'em Cowboy? Original Gangster? Glamour puss? Member of the 80's Pop Band The Bangles? Sailor? Magician? Soldier? Trophy winning Athlete? Well, whatever you are, whether it's weird or wonderful or both, I personally guarantee you will find something that tickles you in your fancy dress at Nude Trump!
Hey! Why don't you get yourself a snazzy outfit and go out dancing with all of the other fun looking people at one of Nude Trump's owner's bars in Shibuya? Upstairs is Trump Room (it's dark and red with taxidermy and about 500 beautiful chandeliers) and the other is Trump House (with gold and silver padded walls!). Find your way there half way down this page.

Me and my love Omar at Trump House. Not a very good picture of the bar but you can see how cool it makes you look (besides the smoking- that's not cool).

Hug Me! Love Me! Spank Me!

I've been home in New Zealand for over a year now after living in Harajuku in Tokyo for a year. Now I'm really starting to get nostalgic for some of that inspiring Japanese creativity. So, to make myself feel better, I'm going to highlight some of my favourite pieces of Japan's snazzy style.
The girl above is Tavuchi. She owns one of the cutest vintage clothes stores in Tokyo, called Spank Me! I used to visit her store weekly and accumulated neon vintage dresses, handpainted vests, tight high waisted leopard print jean shorts and many vintage 80's t shirts. If you're a girly girl who's into the 80's (like me) and visiting Tokyo, you should pop in. It's in Shibuya, get address here. I found the above pictures on LOOKBOOK.nu. Write a love letter home from Ice Cream Town!

'This little planet has taken a beating'
A marching girl band from the future, lawnmowing, flower pruning, radishs, taxidermy, a meat cleaver and giant tea cups. Somewhere in amongst all of this is a video clip containing my creations.
New Zealand band, Minuit have just released their music video for their track Wayho. It's directed by the ever evolving Sally Tran, who also designs all of her costumes and props!
I did Hair/Make Up concepts, hand made the hair pieces and false eyelashes.

AND NOW FOR THE VIDEO (drumroll please)...

Ho Hai Tran took these snaps on the set.
A big thanks to Ruth from Minuit for being so easy to work with and making me giggle at one in the morning!
Thanks too to Catherine and Gareth from Stephen Marr for helping my make up ideas come to life and to Joel for helping me out on the day!

Unorthodox My Balance Sheet
These are backstage shots taken by Sheba Williams on the set of Unorthodox My Balance Sheet, a short film directed by Sally Tran. I created all the hair pieces and false eyelashes and helped with the Make Up concepts. Geisha typists, cardboard loos and fabric handbasins are an everyday occurrence in the magical realm of Ishland
